J.H. WZGARDA

Né en 1975 dans le Sud-Ouest de la France au sein d'une famille d'artistes, Jean Herbert Wzgarda est apparu sur la scène BD en 1992 avec Megalopolis - sa première oeuvre de SF.

Scénariste, dessinateur et coloriste, passionné de BD et de cinéma J.H. est un véritable autodidacte. Il a tour à tour fait ses armes dans différents secteurs artistiques en tant que décorateur, infographiste dans la publicité ou en co-réalisant des courts-métrages primés avec ses deux frères.

Aujourd'hui graphiste indépendant et réalisateur, il collabore sur divers projets de BD ainsi que dans les domaines de la publicité, internet et sur des productions  cinéma  en  tant  que  designer / illustrateur / storyboarder.

Nourri aux comics US et à la BD franco-belge depuis son plus jeune âge, ce jeune dessinateur a multiplié très tôt les expériences artistiques telles qu'expositions et salons du livre, l'animation de cours de dessin et d'ateliers d'initiation à la BD, ou encore la fonction d'artiste consultant chez le leader international des feutres créatifs Letraset. La réalisation en 2007 d'essais sur Spider-man pour Marvel lui a véritablement permis d'adopter le format comic book qu'il semble désormais privilégier par rapport à son style très dynamique de dessin.

Il travaille sans cesse sur de nouveaux projets BD et scénarios sur le thème du fantastique qui lui est si cher. Autant d'histoires et de séries qu'il souhaite développer dans l'édition ainsi que sur grand écran. Car après tout, le 9e Art n'est pas si éloigné de celui du cinéma...


Born in 1975 in south-west France, Jean Herbert Wzgarda began his career in 1992 with his one-shot comic novel Megalopolis  - his first science fiction comic.
 
As a scriptwriter, designer and colorist with a passion for comic strip art, J.H. Wzgarda is virtually self-taught. Armed with a Master's degree in economics, he started out on his career by working as a display and computer graphics designer, and coproduced several award-winning short films with his two brothers along the way.

As a freelance graphic artist, he is working on several comic strip projects, on a number of advertising and internet projects and  also on several film projects as a designer, illustrator and storyboarder.

His insatiable appetite for US and Franco-Belgian comics took him to the world of exhibitions and book fairs from an early age, and he soon found himself in demand to teach courses and workshops for youngsters in drawing and comic strip art. He has also worked as a consultant artist for Letraset, the international leader in creative felt pens. When he realized test panels with Spider-man character for Marvel in 2007, he definitely adopted the comic book way of creation that is really his favorite style of narration.

Brimming over with ideas and energy, he's continually working on new personal comic strip projects and scenarios that revolve around the fantasy worlds that are his favorite themes, creating stories and serials that he hopes to take into the world of publishing and even to the screen. After all, comic strip art is not a million miles away from the cinema...
